Our luxury suites on fabulous Harbour Island, complete with colorful clapboard-sided walls, white trim, and shuttered dormer windows, provide a unique experience for all our guests. Select from one-bedroom or two-bedroom suites with full kitchens, or a Junior Suite with a kitchenette.

Our guests come back to visit us again and again! The architecture was inspired by the historic dwellings that once dotted the Caribbean and our suites feature all-modern amenities—in addition to being internet friendly, each suite is equipped with cable television, telephone, walk-in showers and/or full bathtubs, modern appliances, and stylish decor throughout. Each suite also offers large balconies or covered patios overlooking the pool, gardens, and marina. Every detail is a stroke of design genius—from the fabulous fabrics that ribbon through the suites to the sunken tubs in our marble bathrooms—which is why our guests consistently give us such rave reviews.

We offer pullout beds for families who prefer to share a smaller suite. For in-suite dining, you can cook in your kitchen or kitchenette or order from our on-site restaurants—the Boathouse restaurant and Rooster Tail Bar & Grill.

Junior Villas and one-bedroom villas or townhouses sleep up to four guests, and our two-bedroom villas or townhouses sleep up to six guests. For floor plans please click on any of the below images for a larger view. No matter which option you choose, our suites offer accommodations for families of all sizes.

Cancellation / Prepayment

Payment in full (Non-Refundable) is required 90 days prior to arrival during our high season. Please note that changes to your reservation dates or your length of stay may result in a rate change.

Cancellations During High Season
Canceling up to 90 days before your check-in will result in a full refund of your deposit. For cancellations with less than 90 days notice, you will be responsible for the full payment of the reservation.

Cancellations During Non-High Season
Cancelling up to 21 days before your check-in will result in a full refund of your deposit. Cancellations with less than 21 days’ notice will result in the forfeiture of your deposit. A no call/no show will result in the forfeiture of your deposit and the cancellation of your reservation.

No-shows and early departures are deemed cancellations without notice.

For any customers not checked in within the time covered by their deposit, the reservation will be canceled, and the deposit forfeited.

All cancellation and date change requests must be submitted in writing via email.

Watersport enthusiasts, whether experts or novices, can rent jet skis, kayaks, and more for your perfect vacation adventure. Bone fishing in the flats, deep sea fishing excursions, and boat tours can be arranged right on-site. Valentine's Dive Center is the perfect spot to arrange an exciting scuba-diving or snorkeling tour. And our famed Pink-Sand Beach is an easy stroll for romantic picnics, relaxing and tanning, or having fun with your kids. Family-themed nights are fun for all, including children of all ages.

Pink Sand - Widely considered to be located on the most desirable stretch of Harbour Island’s famous Pink Sands beach, Valentine’s private beach is nothing short of paradise. Our new long stretch of boardwalk makes your short walk to the beach even easier. Our beautiful boardwalk not only makes the journey to the sand a breeze but offers breathtaking views of the clear, turquoise water along the way.

Pool Plaza- Our saltwater swimming pool provides an attractive sun terrace with Balinese-style loungers, umbrellas, and towels for all our guests.

Children Activities - Valentine's Harbour Island resort has created a family-friendly environment that has something for fun lovers of every age. There’s even “PADI Bubblemaker” scuba instruction in our saltwater swimming pool for children ages 8-10 years old that are organized by: Valentines Dive Center. We can even arrange for babysitting for your adult evening.

Our Dive Centre - Valentine's Dive Center is the leading PADI dive resort facility in the area. Whether you are an avid diver or just wish to explore the waters off Harbour Island for the first time, our Dive Center can accommodate your needs. Harbour Island is surrounded by exquisite coral reefs, grottos, underwater blow holes, wall and wreck dives, and high-speed drift dives—overall some of the best diving in the world. We can also set you up with kayaks, paddleboards, small boat rentals or simply a cruise around the islands. Eco tours are available by request, blue hole dives, bat caves, sea horses, and so much more.

Eleuthera & Harbour Island

Harbour Island is a quaint, seaside town with storied New England-style architecture. Eleuthera is a sprawling stretch of wild beauty. All that separates them is a five-minute ferry across sky-blue waters. Make no mistake; if you visit one, you’ll want to visit the other.

Sports & Nature

The Queen’s Baths or the Hot Tubs, are located 0.6 miles south of the Glass-window Bridge on the rugged Atlantic side of the island. These natural pools (carved by centuries of waves pounding the rock) are filled with dramatic crashing waves, shells, and small sea life that wash over from the Atlantic Ocean. Once settled, this crystal clear water is warmed by the sun, creating a bath-like temperature tidal pool that’s perfect for soaking. The best time to visit the hot tubs is during the low or medium tide. When visiting, it is best to wear water or tennis shoes.

Culture and History Info

Originally, Harbour Island and Eleuthera were home to the Lucayan and Arawak People. Christopher Columbus famously discovered the Bahamas in 1492 and wiped out the local indigenous populations by the middle of the 16th century. The island would remain uninhabited for 100 years until some ministers fleeing religious persecution from England settled the island in 1650.

That all changed in 1717 when the settlement surrendered to the British Crown, officially making Eleuthera and Harbour Island a part of the colony of the Bahamas. The complex coral systems around Briland made it notorious for shipwrecks. Naturally, wrecking became an important source of income for the island’s inhabitants. In the 18th century, residents of Harbour Island carried special licenses to assist wrecked ships in return for a third of the recovered loot.

As the settlement grew, so did its economy. Prosperous years were on the horizon as shipbuilding, sugar refinement, and a prohibition-fueled rum boom stimulated the local economy.

You may be wondering how Dunmore Town, Harbour Island’s only town, got its name. It turns out that the governor of Virginia fled to the Bahamas during the American Revolutionary war. He was awarded the title of Lord Dunmore, Governor of the Bahamas and settled in a Victorian cottage on Bay Street. He was responsible for the urban planning of the town you see today!

World War I became a major turning point for the island. As the global depression affected the island’s economy its idyllic pink sand beaches and tropical environment had no choice but to step into the spotlight. The island started becoming a tourism destination in the 1920s and exponentially grew when Bahamas Airways began flying to the island in 1941. Since then, tourism has been the island’s main industry.

In 1973, the colony claimed its independence and became a member of the British Commonwealth with its own parliament, flag, and national anthem.
