Red Knot Manor
It Is The Perfect Escape
The Manor is a three-bedroom guest house that derived its name from a shorebird the Red Knot: a migrant to the shores of the Inaguas. As an eco-tourist destination, Great Inagua attracts numerous bird watchers during the year.
The Red Knot Manor’s theme is based on the diversity of the many species of birds that can be found in its sanctuary. The early morning chimes, humming, and chirping make it the most relaxing atmosphere to be in. Our rooms inspire you to start a brand-new day with vibrancy, renewal of mind and spirit, tranquility, pleasure, and peace.

Inagua Island

Inagua—pristine and largely uninhabited, the southernmost island in The Bahamas. A paradise for bird watchers and eco-tourists. Home to over 80,000 flamingos and 140 species of native and migratory birds, thanks to three National Parks.
Culture and History Info
Great Inagua reportedly has the reputation of experiencing the first act of piracy in The Islands of The Bahamas in 1713. In subsequent years, many ships were wrecked on the reefs along the island's shoreline, and The English Crown selected the island as a location for a lighthouse to be built in the 1800s to prevent such incidents. It used to be one of only three kerosene-burning lighthouses in The Bahamas, but it is now automated. The classic all-white structure towers 113 feet (34.44 meters) and offers visibility to 17 miles (27.35 kilometers). A climb up the lighthouse offers amazing panoramic views of nearby Matthew Town and its environs.
